Mouth guard is heated in hot water until sides start to curl inward and then removed from the hot water and immediately placed on the teeth. Simultaneously use the fingers under the lips to push against the outside walls while using the thumbs to push against the inside walls to form a detailed impression of the sides of the teeth, which is key to a comfortable snug fit.
